Moonstone is a sodium potassium aluminium silicate of the feldspar group that displays a pearly and opalescent schiller. Schiller (German, literally “shimmer”), is the metallic iridescence originating from below the surface of a stone that occurs when light is reflected between layers of minerals. This means the stone will catch the light beautifully, showing different colours from within.
