Turquoise is an opaque, blue-to-green mineral that is a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminium. It is rare and valuable in finer grades and has been prized as a gemstone and ornamental stone for thousands of years owing to its unique hue.

Sonoran Gold turquoise comes in an aqua blue, lime green, and a two tone blue and green. It is a brand new finding from the Sonora area of Mexico near the City of Cananea. Relatively new in the market, this type of turquoise is a newer deposit in the Cananea mines which are located at Campitos Mountain.

In many cultures of the Old and New Worlds, this gemstone has been esteemed for thousands of years as a holy stone, a bringer of good fortune or a talisman. It is said to symbolize wisdom, tranquility, protection and hope.
